A summary of some of the professional qualifications I have been awarded, as well as some insight into my skills and how I would describe myself.

Practitioner of the Institute of Internal Auditing UK (PIIA-UK)

The Practitioner of the Institute of Internal Auditing (PIIA) is a globally recognised certification for internal auditors. It is the mark of competency and professionalism in internal auditing and over 140,000 people have been awarded the designation since its launch in 1973

Geography BSc Honours Degree, Upper Second Class

A BSc Honours Degree studied on a modular basis with the major area of study being Human Geography. The degree also covered physical geography (geology) and statistics. My dissertaion was based on the moving of London's Central Business District (CBD) from it's traditional home to Canary Wharf and earned a distinction.

Skills I have aquired and improved upon during my professional career

Management and Leadership

Leadership skills can be gained in a variety of conventional and unconventional ways and I believe I’ve honed my skills over the years in this respect. I am able to lead and direct others and pride myself on an ability to teach, counsel and coach. Always willing to manage conflict I can help team members set and achieve goals and am comfortable with delegating. Never shy about making decisions I believe I am very effective in this area.

Interpersonal Communication

I am able to write clearly and concisely and see myself as a good listener. Always willing to expresses ideas, I am also co-operative and try to resolve differences and believe I work well with others.

Planning and Organising

Having spent a large proportion of my professional career involved in projects and programmes my forecasting skills have been honed over the years. I’ve mobilised project teams by identifying and gathering appropriate resources and will always conduct research. A problem solver, can handle detail and motivated to meet deadlines.
