and Telecoms sectors.

Programme Director, current role

  • Delivery of large and complex Business Transformation to realise cost benefits for a 2,000 people / £300m business.

  • Leadership of a number of Operational Change programmes to address reporting, revenue leakage, property (cost saving), OLA's and staff exits.

  • Business Planning, Business reviews and recommendations, tracking and management of business portfolio risks and opportunities, interpretation of business MI, collating and improving.

  • Maintenance of strategic view over change portfolio, providing framework for implementing business initiatives and communicating vision of programmes.

     

Major achievement:

  • Delivery of business transformation  to consolidate 3 businesses into a single £300m turnover business unit with 2,000 staff and associated cost saving.

 

 
Client Director, 2014 - 2016

The Recruiting Partnering Project (RPP) with the MoD provides a tri-service ICT

platform to underpin recruitment for the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.

 

  • Workstream lead for an MoD change programme valued £500m over 10 years.

  • £20 million budget responsibility and accountability.

  • Contract management & senior relationship management of multiple 3rd parties.

  • Leadership and management of 40, including project and technical  staff.

  • Responsibility for overall infrastructure, application solution, detail and planning.

 

Major achievements:

  • Rapid mobilisation of programme team and development of plans.

  • Delivery of Initial Operating Capability (Go-Live) on time.

 

 

Head of Programme Management, 2009 - 2011

has been powering global connectivity for more than three decades.

 

  • Ensured all live programmes were prioritised against the overall product portfolio.

  • Ensured that available resources were allocated appropriately and that programmes will provide the agreed contribution to Inmarsat’s strategic position.

  • Ensured that other key decision making areas in the business (e.g. Executive Board) were aware of status / decision processes of new / existing projects/programmes.

  • Ensured that there was a well structured process for business case development.

  • Lead programmes requiring high levels of expertise or are particularly high profile.

 

Major achievements:

  • Development of resource plan and programme governance building blocks for the Global Xpress Programme, a $1.2billion satellite constellation.

 
Business Development Manager, 2006 - 2009

Newsgathering is time-critical. Seconds count. BGAN enables journalists

to broadcast within minutes of arriving at the scene of a story.

 

  • Leading business development activity in key land sector, Media.

  • Ensuring market requirements as identified through business development initiatives were reflected in the product development process.

  • Collaboration with channel to review/implement pricing promotions and schemes.

  • Establishing a commercial end-to-end framework for testing new solutions across the BGAN network including partner identification and marketing of solution.

  • Establishing a field trial process including incentives that stimulates usage in key non-core target sectors in collaboration with sales channel.

 

Major achievements:

  • Creation and establishment of the BGAN Broadcast Working Group (BBWG), a group to facilitate collaborative working with the Media sector.

 

 
Programme Manager, 2004 - 2006

The BGAN service provides simultaneous voice and broadband data

communications globally from small and lightweight satellite terminals.

 

  • Lead the process for Distribution Partner selection, including business plans for a Global 3G satellite service called BGAN, also putting in place products & services as well as marketing communications, new business processes and pricing.

  • Developed implementation plans with selected Partners and maintained momentum of programme by ensuring DP’s remained on track for commercial BGAN launch.

  • Managed the overall programme lifecycle for commercial launch including development and maintenance of the overall schedule, provision of status reporting, management of the programme steering group, and risk management activities.

 

Major achievements:

  • Successful implementation and launch with 10 Distribution Partners following implementation of a rigorous gating programme for each partner to achieve.

 

 
Senior Project Manager, 2002 - 2004

  • Initiation and management of replacement Fraud Detection System project, providing target savings of £4.5 million per annum.
